Domenic Afonso is President and Chief Executive Officer of D&F Afonso Builders, Inc., a family owned business he started in 1983. Domenic works closely with his wife, Tina, who is President of Afonso Real Estate. Afonso Real Estate exclusively markets and sells homes by D&F Afonso Builders. Domenic's son-in-law, Joe Ferreira has been with D&F Afonso Builders since 1996. He is the Construction Supervisor and is responsible for the day-to-day operations at every project location. Joe has been instrumental in driving the company from a small family owned business to the competitive leader in the local residential building industry. Suzette Ferreira, Domenic's daughter and Joe's wife, has recently joined the company as a Project Manager to assist with the day-to-day operations while monitoring the relationship between the company and the customer in order to make the transition for both the buyer and seller as smooth as possible. D&F Afonso has grown from a full-time hobby to a leading competitor in the building of local residential homes. The company has expanded from constructing 5 homes a year to approximately 55 per year. D&F Afonso Builders have built hundreds of homes, varying in price range, to suit first time buyers, growing families, or empty nesters. They have completed subdivisions in the Milford area and many of the surrounding towns. They pride themselves on providing a quality built home at an affordable price. Since, their business is not a nationwide chain, they are able to provide a more personal service to their customers. In order to stay competitive, D&F Afonso Builders are responsible for many aspects of the building operation. Their crew is experienced in many aspects of the building process, which does not require them to subcontract certain jobs. D&F Afonso Builders does all the site work on each project. They install roads from start to finish, including; septic and drain installation. They install sewer lines, main lines, water mains and laterals. D&F Afonso crew also lays all types of curbing, including: granite, concrete, and cape cod burn. They also do the landscaping for each property and own their own topsoil and screening plant. They also own their own forms and have an experienced crew, which allows them to pour their own foundations. They have an experienced sider that installs the vinyl siding on all of their homes. D&F also has an experienced mason as part of their team. He constructs each fireplace using real brick for all of the Afonso homes.
